Assalamualaikum and Hi!
During this week of lecture, we learned about "From Disciplinary Strength to Transdisciplinary Approach for Sustainable Development". Everyone in the society play a significant role in order to achieve sustainability, not just the people with specific knowledge, expertise or authority.
Next, in terms of SD situation, the example of the river located in the Kuliyyah of IRKHS, the condition is bad because of the nearby construction to build houses. They are cutting the trees, making the naked land exposed to the rain, resulting it to the muddy water flowing into the river.
Furthermore, this topic is important because we need transdisciplinary approach to know how to tackle the manifold aspects of realities, how to increase understanding on global and complex issues, how to stimulate synergies among disciplines and how we can support co-operation and exchange among experts and sectors.
Thus, in Islam, unity is needed as mentioned in the Quran, "And hold fast to the rope of God, all together, and be not divided" (3:103).
