WEEK 3 - Maqasid Shariah and Sustainable Development

 

Assalamualaikum and Hi!

For the 3rd week of lecture, we learned regarding the topic Maqasid Shariah and Sustainable Development. Maqasid shariah consists of protection of faith, life, intellect, lineage and also wealth. Both has the same objective which is to promote and protect the well-being of people and nature.

When it comes to any SD situation, I would consider the aspect the Maqasid Shariah in making the actions since most of the goals are nonetheless aligned with the spirit of Islamic law.

This is an essential topic since it is necessary to consider religion's entire function in shaping human lives and fostering sustainable development.  

Thus, Islam emphasises the importance of erecting a better and more harmonious society through constructive and productive economic activity.
